Summary: Italian Western 101
Comment: This collection ranges from the early 60s to the late 70s style Italian westerns. Texas, Adio is a traditional revenge Ital. western with a very young Franco Nero. Keoma is a rather diverse film, but the characters don't evolve as much as the plot does. Don't let that take away from the film though, it is still top knotch. Four of the Apocalypse is essentially composed of multiple Bret Harte stories, with a added hint of direct violence. FOTA is a Lucio Fulci film, so expect a lot of blood. A Bullet for the General is a solid political film with a strong sense of comradeship. For Volente fans, like myself, ABFTG is a must see. Finally, Companeros, the best of the set in my opinion, is possibly Corbucci's best film. This is a great collection for serious Italian western film fans. Now, I have to say this here because I'm tired of hearing it. True western fans do not refer to Italian westerns as Spaghetti westerns, this is an offensive term to directors/actor/ess who really poured their hearts and souls into their films. Why are Leone and Eastwood such icons? because they made a name for themselves in the art of Italian Westerns.

Comment: as i have said before i love westerns and i love spaghetti westerns also. the five movies here are among some of the best.the extras for this set are very good and there are plenty of them.
