The 2008 edition of the 'A-Z Guide to Santorini' is a complete and comprehensive guide to the Aegean island of Santorini. The book covers in depth the history and myths of the island including Atlantis, the history of the volcano, the archaeological site of Akrotiri, what to see, car hire and public transport, where to go, what to do, eating out, the best beaches, shopping, travel information, maps, organising a wedding on the island and a host of tips and hints for the holidaymaker and traveller. The book is aimed at helping the visitor save time and money, both prior to and during their visit and to get the most out of their stay on this dramatic and beautiful island.

Summary: Best guide book
Comment: We have just returned from a sailing holiday around the Greek islands. Before we left we browsed all the guide-books that were available for our trip and as the A to Z guides covered both Santorini and Kos, two out of the three islands we visited, we purchased a copy of each. We all agreed that the books were so easy to read and were packed full of useful information, facts and tips, covering all that was available to do and see on the islands. It made our short stay on each island so complete, as we could `cherry-pick' those sites and activities that were of interest to each in our party.
For Rhodes, our other destination, we bought a book locally. We were so disappointed as it just wasn't as useful as the A to Z's. We found what information was in it, out of date and in very poor English and I am sure we missed many interesting places during our stay.
We have used many travel guides in the past, but found the A to Z's a `breath of fresh air' and so user-friendly. We just hope that other books in this series will cover our future trips to Greece.

Summary: Terrible guidebook
Comment: This is a terrible guidebook if you're looking for places to stay . The author doesn't list ANY except camping parks. A 12 year old could have written this book. List bugs on the island like wasps and as well as the number of ATMS but not the locations. Waste of my money
